Soldiers from the First Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (1 PWRR) marched through the streets of Royal Tunbridge Wells as part of a homecoming parade on Friday 17 July. The Homecoming Parade was held to mark the return of 1 PWRR from active service in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Battalion paraded in Crescent Road in front of the Assembly Hall Theatre and was inspected by the Mayor, Cllr Leonard Price. The Mayor presented medals to two Kent soldiers including Private Andres Neil from Tunbridge Wells who was part of the last British Army convoy to cross the border from Iraq to Kuwait. This was followed by a speech and reply from the Mayor and Brigadier S F Deakin respectively. The Battalion then marched through the streets of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
